Improved healthcare and better quality of life worldwide is responsible a substantial percentage of the population to reaching >60 years of age. Currently the number in of elderly people worldwide is 600 million and is expected to double by 2025 and reach approximately to two billion by 2050.
This special population who has lead our lives, supported us when we were children, gave wings to our dreams are still playing a crucial role in the society:
- Through volunteer work
- Transmitting experience and knowledge
- Helping their families with caring responsibilities and
- Increasing their participation in the paid labor force
Turacoz salutes the elderly population for their invaluable support and role in our existence and wishes that they enjoy adequate levels of health. Geriatric medicine plays a big role in the health outcomes of this special population.
